Why We Started Postlumens

When our grandmother’s boxes of photos began to fade, we realized how quickly family memories can be lost. Postlumens was born out of that moment — to help families protect their legacies before time and wear take them away.

With a background in software engineering and past IT experience supporting a professional digitizing service, I know how important reliable technology, backups, and careful handling are. Postlumens is where that expertise meets family passion.

Here’s exactly how the Postlumens process works, from start to finish, and what you can expect to invest in keeping your memories alive.

How It Works

    1. Send or Drop Off

    We’ll send you a secure shipping kit for $40 — or you can drop off your photos locally for free.

    If you’re sending over 1,000 photos, we’ll waive the kit fee entirely.

    2. Digitize with Care

    Each photo is scanned at 600 dpi using professional equipment, with backups created immediately to protect your images.

    The cost per photo is $0.25.

    3. Receive + Remember

    You’ll receive:

    - All your originals safely returned
    - A USB drive with your digital scans
    - 1 year of secure storage on Google Drive

    ⏱ Turnaround time: Most orders are completed in 4–6 weeks. Rush options are available.
