How It Works

A woman smiling outdoors holding a package and mailing supplies.

1. Send or Drop Off

We’ll send you a secure shipping kit for $40 — or you can drop off your photos locally for free.

If you’re sending over 1,000 photos, we’ll waive the kit fee entirely.

A photo scanner on a wooden desk with printed photos scattered around, a cup of coffee, and a closed laptop. The scanner is printing a family portrait, and another family picture is displayed on top of the scanner.

2. Digitize with Care

Each photo is scanned at 600 dpi using professional equipment, with backups created immediately to protect your images.

The cost per photo is $0.25.

3. Receive + Remember

You’ll receive:

  • All your originals safely returned

  • A USB drive with your digital scans

  • 1 year of secure storage on Google Drive

⏱ Turnaround time: Most orders are completed in 4–6 weeks. Rush options are available.

Future Services

At Postlumens, we’re starting with photo digitization — but our vision goes further.
We’re working to expand our capabilities to help families preserve every piece of their story, from film reels to journals and beyond.

  • Some photos are too delicate, curled, or valuable to send through a feeder.

Our upcoming sensitive photo service will use flatbed and specialty scanning methods designed for fragile, mounted, or oversized photos.

Every image will be handled individually — slowly, safely, and with the same care we’d give to our own family photos.

  • We’re developing an in-house setup for transferring Super 8, 8mm, 16mm, and VHS footage into digital formats.

Our goal is to preserve every frame in high quality while cleaning up sound and exposure wherever possible.

If you have film or tapes waiting to be digitized, let us know — your project may help us bring this service online sooner.

  • Handwritten letters and journals capture a side of memory photos can’t.

This service will focus on archival-quality scanning for notebooks, diaries, letters, and other personal documents — making them easy to read, share, and safely store for generations.

  • Soon we’ll offer tools to bring your family’s stories together — combining photos, recordings, and written memories into curated digital and printed memory books.

We also plan to offer AI-assisted story compilation, helping you turn shared memories into short biographies and keepsakes that feel deeply personal.
